Synopsis

Alice Feeney’s newest release is expected to come out in January 2026 and I FLEW through this book! One thing I particularly enjoyed about this book was the way in which chapters ended and began like a trick. Each one seemed to dangle just enough information for you to think you knew where it was going - like you could have written the next chapter yourself. Meanwhile, the next page took it to a completely new place, leaving you dumbfounded and eager for more. There truly was no "just one more chapter" when each one ends with SUCH a cliffhanger. I also enjoyed the unraveling of time and use of multiple POVs. It felt as though I was experiencing things as they were happening until the investigation began. That unleashed a new chronology, where many different perspectives came into play. Each POV revealed a new connection between characters, and took me astray from what really happened - it almost felt like multiple mini mysteries in one big thriller novel.

Final Thoughts
With the inevitability of death, this book ingrains how heavily one's regrets can alter their present and future. While it's more dramatized than many of us would ever experience, there's a reason no one should know when they are going to die - so that every day can be fulfilled and appreciated. It was so exhilarating to read through this novel to decipher which woman survived and the motive behind the crime. Who lives and which regret was harmful enough to cause such destruction?
