My first ARCs

THIS IS NOT A DRILL GUYS! After months of applying for advanced reader copies of upcoming releases, I have received not one… not two… not three… but FOUR responses! I couldn’t be more elated or grateful to the authors and publishers who have given me these opportunities. There are a lot of great books coming up - so let’s talk about ARCs and those that I’ll be sharing with you guys over the next few months!

^My face after receiving my first ARC email in case you were curious - cue squealing

What’s an ARC?

An ARC, an advanced reader copy, is a book that has yet to be released. These copies can either be digital or physical and are provided to readers in exchange for an honest review prior to their release date!

Receiving an ARC is exciting for soooo many reasons! Not only is it a free book within your library, it’s the opportunity to provide feedback to an author prior to their book’s release. It’s such a vital and delicate honor to be one of the first to access an author’s work. Think about how much time and effort goes into a novel: the idea, the drafts, the plot, the structure, the characters, the rejections, the publication process - I mean, the list is endless! To be selected as one of the few readers who get’s to enjoy their work of art and provide feedback is so special. If you ever get the opportunity, please take it and fully emerse yourself within the author’s work!

I cannot tell you the SQUEALS that come from my body when I receive an email like this!! Out of all the applications you apply for, the right books will find their way to you! I have been so fortunate to receive such amazing e-books from publishers and authors.

An ARC is a sneak peek into a story before it hits the shelves, a chance to be among the first to discover a new world.
